BUSHBULLIT
A Texas Rock Legacy

Bringing you South Texas Finest Southern Rock and Roll

BUSHBULLIT is a nickname for Armadillo, which has been a symbol for Texas music for years.  It brings back memories of the Armadillo Headquarters in Austin, Texas in the early 70's.  BUSHBULLIT is from South Texas, and plays Texas inspired Rock and Blues.

In 1976, BUSHBULLIT started playing at Inza's Lonesome Coyote Saloon, in Corpus Christi , Texas .

0.B. Gonzalez, lead guitarist and vocalist, found early success in a band called Apple in the early 70’s, which recorded two albums that produced two single releases which were regional hits in Houston, San Antonio, and South Texas.

The winds of change heralded the return of David “Doc” De Alcala on the drums who played with O.B. with the Impostors in the 80’s.

Several years later, Eddie Saenz, 0. B.’s nephew, current bassist and vocalist for BUSHBULLIT joined the band.

This legendary coalition of accomplished musicians proved to be exceedingly durable, with a melding of talent that elevated BUSHBULLIT into a league of their own.

For years they continued to make their presence known on the South Texas music scene playing local venues such as Executive Surf Club, Elizabeth’s by the Sea, Bayfest, Rattlesnake Races and Annual Biker Rallies for The Gypsys, the Thunder Riders and The CC Bikers Association.  This convergence of Doc, Eddie, and 0. B. has brought into focus a potent combination of many years of musical experience and raw talent.

Their nightly repertoire includes tributes to Texas greats like Freddie King, Willie Dixon, ZZ Top, The Fabulous T-Birds, Johnny Winter, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Delbert McClinton. There are also tributes to the Allman Bros., Marshall Tucker, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, George Thorogood, Creedence, Bob Seger and Lynyrd Skynrd.  They backed up Bo Diddley for 2 hours, no song list no rehearsal "just hit it boys".   They also opened up for classic rock acts: Molly Hatchet, Foghat and Head East.

BUSHBULLIT continues a legacy and tradition started long ago.  Their music includes their own brand of Texas Rock and Blues.  This synergistic alliance of Texas Rock and Blues musicians collectively represents the dynamic make up and sensational sounds of the South Texas' best kept secret, BUSHBULLIT.
